Below is the PEL and information on directions and lodging for the Fort Dix Gaming Weekend now called ON TARGET 2009. There is no cost for this event and all are welcome. I want to thank everyone for your support in this event.

F-1 Battle of Pharsalus, 25mm

Rules: Classical Hack for Rome (modified).

Start Time: 1800/6:00pm End Time: 2300/11:00pm
Up to 8 players
Description: It is 9 August 48 BC on the plains of Pharsalus, Greece where Julius Caesar's 32,000 troops join battle against Gnaeus Pompey's 75,000 troops to determine the outcome of the First Roman Civil War. Historically, Caesar defeated Pompey, who fled to Egypt where he was killed by Pharaoh Ptolemy XIII. Command forces and change the outcome of history or keep it the same.

S-1 Battle of Champion Hill, 15mm, American Civil War

Game Master: Frank Preziosa
Start time: 0900/9:00am End Time: 1300/1:00pm
Up to 8 players
Description: On 16 May 1863 during the Vicksburg Campaign Union Major General Grant and the Army of the Tennessee pursues the Confederates of Lieutenant General Pemberton. Pemberton defends a 3 mile long line with 22,000 troops against Grants 32,000. The defensive ground was chosen well. Historically, Grant defeated Pemberton leading to the end of the Siege of Vicksburg. NOTE: Frank Preziosa will provide a lecture/discussion on the battle as part of the event.

S2 Battle of the Bulge: Kampfgruppe Pieper, 15mm World War II

Rules: V for Victory

Up to 4 players
Description: German armor must take the port of Antwerp to divide the Allied Armies. Colonel Pieper's spearhead has is leading the German's against stunned US Forces in what was a quiet sector in the Ardennes Forest.

S3 Fulda Gap 1981, 1/600, Soviet Union and NATO

Description: It is the Fall of 1981 and forces of the Warsaw pact have breached the wall and flooded into West Germany. The 8th Guards Army T-72s, BMPs and Hind Gunships have emerged from the mist covering the Fulda Gap. The squadrons of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment are all that stand prepared to block the Hammer's initial blow.

S4 Battle of Helsingborg: 6mm, Great Northern War, Denmark v. Sweden

Description: Danish forces attempt to regain the Scanian Islands lost to Sweden in 1658. 14,000 Danes battle an equally large force of Swedes. Historically, the Swedish forces defeated the Danish forces.

S5 Impossible Mission: Air Battle over Belgium

Description: It is 0920 hours on 12 May 1940 the Luftwaffe's Bf109E battle British Hurricanes for the approaches to the Vroenhoven and Veldwezelt Bridges near Maastricht, Belgium.

S6 Naval Battle of Memphis: 1/600, American Civil War Naval

Rules: Under Both Flags
Game Master: Patrick Hreachmack
Start Time: 1400/2:00pm End Time: 1700/5:00pm
Up to 4-15 players
Description: Union and Confederate fleets engage in surface combat in the largest fleet action during the American Civil War. Over 15 vessels and reinforcements on the way slug it out in a nautical "demolition derby" as spectators from the city of Memphis picnic on the coastline hoping for a Confederate victory.

S7 Battle of Blenheim: 15mm, War of Spanish Succession

Start Time: 1600/4:00pm End Time: 2100/9:00pm
Up to 10 players
Description: It is 13 August 1704; King Louis XIV wants to knock Emperor Leopold out of the war by seizing Vienna, the Hapsburg capital. British forces fight with France and the Allies. Over 100,000 men and 150 artillery pieces changed the European map. Relive the battle in all its glory and see what history is or isn't changed.

S8 Battle of Olustee: 15mm, American Civil War

Up to 6 players
Description: It is 20 February 1864 Union and Confederate forces engage in the largest American Civil War land battle in Florida. Over 5000 troops on both sides fight for strategic and tactical objectives. Historically, the Confederates defeated the Union forces.

S9 Battle of Dethingen, 15mm, War of Austrian Succession

Description: It is 27 June 1743 and George II of Great Britain personally leads his army allied with Hanover and Hesse battle the French near Dettingen.

S10 Battle of Charleston Harbor, 1/1200 American Civil War Naval

Game Masters: Joe Seliga and Douglas Lipton
Start Time: 1300/1:00pm End Time: 1700/5:00pm
Up to 8 players
Description: Fight the April 1863 battle in Charleston Harbor with your Union Fleet of monitors and "New Ironsides" with supporting vessels. A scale model of the harbor will allow battling forces to relive the action as if they were truly in command of the fleets and fortresses.

S11 Operation Neptune, The Battle for Ste Mere Eglise, 25/28mm

Rules: World War II `The Hard Way.'

Start Time: 1830/6:30pm End Time: 2300/11:00pm
Up to 10 players
Description: 6 June 1944, 0140 hours the green light comes on and paratroopers of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment exit their C47 preceding the ground invasion of Fortress Europe on D- Day. Their objective—Ste Mere Eglise, France, defending the area, troops of the Wehrmacht. Historically, the town was taken securing the invasion lines of communication and preventing reinforcements from getting to Utah Beach. Players will command teams and squads in this skirmish level battle.

Directions

Directions to the Jonah E. Kelly Army Reserve Center --

North or South via the NJ Turnpike: Travel to Exit 7. Take the exit ramp split towards Fort Dix and McGuire Air Force Base (206 South). Travel under two overpasses and take the jug handle before the 2nd traffic light. Cross over Route 206 South/North and go east on Route 68. Follow Route 68 approximately 8 miles. Last traffic light is at Saylor's Pond Road. Go through this intersection and through the bricked gate into Fort Dix. The Kelly Reserve Center is on the right approximately 1/4 mile ahead. Turn right into the Center and park in the rear or on the west side. There is no requirement to enter the main gate of Fort Dix, so no ID is necessary to come the event.

From the East: Travel to Interstate 195 West and follow this to County Route 537 West (Exit 16- Six Flags Great Adventure) follow 537 West to Route 68, make a right and follow to Fort Dix and the Reserve Center as above.

From PA: Travel on the PA Turnpike to NJ Turnpike and follow above or 95 North from Philly, becomes 295 South after crossing US 1 in NJ and follow to exit 57, Bordentown. Take Route 130 north. Follow north to McDonalds (on right) turn right and go to 1st light which is Route 206 south. Follow 206 south past NJ Turnpike and then at second light take jughandle, cross over 206 on to 68 east and follow to Ft Dix as in Turnpike directions above.

From South on 206. Follow 206 North to Route 68 east and follow above directions.

Lodging

If anyone wishes to stay over night barracks rooms are available. Please note, these are not hotel rooms. You will have to share them with other people. All beds will be filled, so no private rooms. You will also need to provide all sheets and bedding items and all shower items including towels. You will also be responsible to clean the room (remove trash ect..) before you leave.
