12-13 June 2009
Jonah E. Kelley Army Reserve Center
Fort Dix, New Jersey

NJCON is a New Jersey-based miniatures gaming convention dedicated mainly to historical miniatures but welcoming other genres as well.

Last year's kickoff convention featured: the Battle of Leipzig with thousands of painted 15mm miniatures; a Warmachine Steamroller Tournament, which returns this year; several games commemorating the anniversary of D-Day; vendors, a flea market, and much more.

This year we have added a Flames of War Regional Qualifier tournament and a painting competition.

Here is a copy of the NJCON flyer(.pdf) suitable for printing.

IMPORTANT - New Location and Dates for 2009

Last year we had our very first and successful NJCON in Kenilworth, but identified a few things that would be improved with a new location. Following the recent success of the "On Target" weekend event run by Lt. Col. Mark Zaslavsky in February, we were able to secure the Jonah E. Kelley Army Reserve Center at Ft. Dix as our new location for NJCON 2009. This facility has much more parking and most importantly for those remembering the record heat wave of 2008, it has air conditioning!! We are being hosted by Lt. Col. Zaslavsky’s 1/322 Logistics Support Battalion for NJCON 2009 and the food concession onsite will be run for the benefit of the battalion’s MWR fund.

We were unable to get the first weekend in June. The new dates will be Friday and Saturday June 12th and 13th, 2009.

The Warmachine Steamroller Tournament from last year will be returning and we’ll be adding a Flames of War Tournament, 1750 points Late War lists, three rounds, 24 player slots- sponsored by Time Warp Comics & Games, with assistance of the Cellar Dwellers. We’re also looking to add new vendors as our location will allow us to double the space for the hobby vendors everyone likes to see at a convention.

More information will follow. We hope you can join us!

News - "On Target" a great success!

The 72nd Field Artillery Brigade On Target 09 was a great success. There were 14 events, with over 75 attendees. COL Williams, the Brigade Commander thanks all the game masters and participants for their hard work, participation and stated "if you haven't been to one of these you need to go, it isn't what you think, it is so much better." He observed his NCOs and Officers interacting, planning, conducting operations and strategy that "could not be gained elsewhere."

The game masters did an incredible job presenting battles from across the breadth of history. It is our hope that the NJCON which will be held 12-14 June 2009 in the same location will bring even more success and support from the Fort Dix community and enjoyment to the excellent team of game masters and players.

Testimonial:

First, I must state that you did a superb job in organizing the event. The facilities were outstanding and much to my suprise, the location was a lot closer then I thought. I look forward to participating in other events, at Fort Dix. ---- Thanks again, Lou Cardinale
