A Message from our Director

Thanks to all for coming out for the convention. We had a great showing for our first convention given the heat wave.

D-Day Flames of War

I want to thank my fellow convention committee members. In addition to a few in person meetings, we logged probably somewhere in the area of 500-600 or more emails leading up to the convention and I appreciate the time they took reading *most* of them :)

I also want to thank the volunteers who came out to help staff the front desk, run errands and generally be helpful all around. Also thanks to the guys who stayed to help cleanup Saturday evening and anyone else I missed who stepped in when needed. Thank you thank you thank you.

We're not even a convention without games, so thank you all game masters from our local groups and clubs as well as those who traveled farther to participate. We had great looking games. There was the massive Leipzig game. I number of 15mm figures on the game tables was spectacular. There were so many great looking games of the usual size as well. We also had a good turnout for the Warmachine tournament. Thank you all. I hope we'll get to see some of these games repeated at Dexcon, Historicon, or at one of our local stores.

Aside from games, a convention is certainly enhanced by the ability to spend money on more toys. I want to thank our vendors who took a financial risk to come out and support a new effort. I hope we made it worth their travel. I came away with some nice things- A Hudson&Allen 25mm European village, a handmade ruined office building, some Starship Troopers and Warmachine figures as well a deal on a Tomb Kings GW army in the flea market.

The good news is we survived the heat, and I think we can seriously consider doing this type of event again, but obviously in an A/C environment or at a different time of year not as subject to the freakish extremes of the weather.

Thanks again EVERYONE,

The Director
